Class Descriptions
Intro to Yoga
Provides students with a solid foundation to the philosophy and practice of yoga - breathing, meditation and postures (asanas) from a therapeutic approach. Students will learn the general flow of a hatha based class which includes opening poses, salutations, balancing postures, back and core strengthening, inversions, twists, finishing poses and savasana. Great for any level of student to refresh and practice solid foundations and breath work. All are welcome.
Yoga Therapy Series
6 week customized series designed to restore functional movement in the shoulders and hips, core and back, and work through pain and restriction. Applying 8 principles of therapeutic yoga. Learn how to move in your pain-free range of motion, and create ease so that you can return to what is important to you. Please reserve your spot in this therapeutic series. Breath and Body Awareness Series
In this series we will learn safe and simple breath and body awareness techniques to aid with the following: stress, insomnia, body pain and tension, depression, and disease. All are welcome. No experience is necessary. It is recommended that you wear loose and comfortable, layered clothing. This series will start April 11th for 6 weeks. Please register to guarantee your spot.
Hatha Flow/Restorative
An all levels Hatha class which will integrate 8 therapeutic yoga principles and provide new and experienced students with a new way of moving in their practice. The second half of the class will focus on restorative postures to create ease and and help you unwind. If you are looking to create more balance in your body, this class has the right ingredients to help you find the relaxed resilience to meet life head on. Preregistration is recommended. This class is limited to 10 people.
Creating Core Stability
An fusion of yoga and pilates focussed on strengthening your core. Exercises are focussed in re-establishing engagement and functionality of the transverse abdominus, obliques, erector spinae, multifidus, and mula banda, and restoring and improving functional movement in the hips, pelvis and shoulders. Working with controlled movement, you'll improve body awareness, strength and functionality for your everyday activities. A great workout and essential to support a yoga practice and the activities of daily life.
